Ford: only pirates distribute pictures of their own cars
This BoingBoing post makes it clear that copyright is truly getting out of control. These folks can’t print a calendar with pictures of their tricked-out Ford cars because Ford attorneys determined that the cars are trademarked therefore others can’t make money from their image. Where will this end? Will manufacturers control the ability to photograph or even write about their “work.”
The writer’s strike, crazy trademark suits, DRM–the pot is boiling. We have to decide as a society how we “own” ideas, images and material that are part of our community.
