Hey Wes,

That Obama video was pretty scary - kinda gave me the creeps.

Glad I came across your blog - good to see what you're up to. Keep posting!

Perfect timing that we friended each other on Facebook, Wes, so that I could see this posting. What are you using to sync your BlackBerry to your Macs? I'm on a Treo myself so my life's not too complicated, but my wife insisted on getting a BlackBerry and when refurbed Curves went on sale for free, I'm stuck playing IT on a whole new platform. Sigh.
Anyways, despite the almost universally bad reviews, I was powerfully shocked to find that PocketMac for BB actually works. I had already spent the $20 to crossgrade from Missing Sync for Palm to Missing Sync for BB. But PocketMac has a direct sync with Entourage, which I generally prefer to letting Entourage play with Sync Services, which I'd have to do with Missing Sync.
The fly in the ointment that I'm dealing with now is that my wife's from Belarus and thus has address book entries in Cyrillic characters. So far neither Missing Sync nor PocketMac will synchronize entries in Cyrillic, but at least PocketMac will synchronize her Latin character entries and not just stop and produce an error message like Missing Sync does. I've got a few ideas how to deal with it, but have you any thoughts?

Wes, I don't think you need in any hobbies. In fact, I think you should plow deeper into your job. You have been half assing it for too long.

Nice post, and I have to agree with your view that Apollo was a pinnacle of achievement in engineering, as well as astronautics of course.

Have you read Apollo by Charles Murray and Catherine Bly Cox? This is possibly the best Apollo book I've ever read (possibly), chronicling the achievements of the engineers and managers, rather than the astronauts. I had to order it from the authors direct (but their website doesn't seem to be working today). Amazon have it at extortionate prices.

Also The Man Who Ran the Moon, by Piers Bizony: a biography of James Webb, but also including lots about other managers close to him.

If you're a manager I'm sure you'll get lots of inspiration in a can-do mentality from these stories.

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a child. I wrote to NASA when I was in the 6th grade. Nasa sent me a package of black and white photos and information about the space program.

I'm quite curious why this generation chooses share very personal thoughts on the web. Some day this behavior will be analyzed and studied, and shared on the web.
I miss you Wes, my colleague and friend. I watched your baby video -- and a couple You Tube videos. How do you find this stuff? Everyone needs a good geek friend to show us the new toys of the day.
